Previously she worked as Reader in Mental Health at City, University of London and as Clinical Lecturer in Dementia and Nursing at UCL Division of Psychiatry, where she retains honorary positions. Juanita is also a Senior Researcher & Visiting Professor at the Millennium Institute for Caregiving Research (MICARE), Universidad Andrés Bello, Santiago, Chile
